SsangYong Motor Co., South Korea's fourth-largest automaker, said Tuesday it has started work on the
expansion of its plant in a move to more than double its production capacity by 2007.

The auto manufacturer said last week it entered the first phase of its 2.2 trillion-won (US$1.9 billion)
expansion plan for its plant in Pyeongtaek, about 70 kilometers south of Seoul.
