Title SsangYong Motor signs for 4,500 Actyon in just 6 days.
Date 2005.10.19

The sales of Actyon, a vehicle made by Ssangyong Motor, have been tremendous since its launch, and the
small-sized sports utility vehicle (SUV) market is expected to become a three-way battle, along with
Tucson made by Hyundai and Sportage by Kia.

According to Ssangyong Motor on the 19th of this month, Actyon, a 2,000 cc SUV that was just released on
the 14th made 3,260 purchase contracts on the first day, and a total of 4,500 purchase contracts to date.

A source at Ssangyong Motor said, “Considering that there had not been any pre-release contracts, this
result surpasses our expectations.” He also added that “There doesn’t seem to be any problem in
reaching our goal, which is 3,000 cars a month.”

The number of contracts to purchase Actyon on the first day is less than Kia Sportage (6,727 cars) or Hyundai
Tucson (4,166 cars) which were released last year. But considering that those two models had started accepting
pre-release contracts a month before the release date, and have much bigger sales networks, a simple comparison
of numbers would not accurately reflect the true sales totals, according to Ssangyong Motor.
