Title SSANGYONG MOTOR AIMS TO UP EXPORTS TO W EUROPE BY 25 PCT
Date 2006.01.17

Ssangyong Motor Co., South Korea's fourth-largest automaker, said Tuesday it aims to export 25 per cent more
vehicles to Western Europe in 2006 than in 2005, helped by the introduction of its new sport utility vehicles.

Ssangyong Motor, owned by China's Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp., said in a statement that it expects to
export 51,000 vehicles this year to Western Europe, compared with 41,150 exported last year.

Exports to Western Europe will account for 60 per cent of Ssangyong Motor's total export target of 85,100 units
 this year, the statement said.

Ssangyong Motor targeted total sales of 172,100 vehicles this year, compared with 141,306 sold last year, according
to company spokesman Kim Beok-seok.

Last year, however, Ssangyong Motor failed to meet its 2005 sales target of 170,000 units.
