Title Ssangyong Motor debuts LIV-1 concept SUV
Date 2014.02.06
LIV-1
Ssangyong Motor Co., South Korea’s fourth-largest carmaker, said Thursday it unveiled its LIV-1 concept sport utility vehicle for the first time outside its home turf at the 12th Delhi Auto Show underway in the Indian capital.

The car, dubbed LIV-1 for Limitless Interface Vehicle, outlines the new “Nature-born 3Motion” design language of the company that has made considerable strides to capture greater market share and meet customer satisfaction in recent years.

In 2013, Ssangyong’s sales surged 20.7 percent on-year to 145,649 vehicles, with exports including the so-called complete knock-down kits, which must be reassembled at the country in which they are sold, hitting 81,679 units.

The local unit of Indian SUV maker Mahindra & Mahindra said LIV-1 has a dignified and premium stance, and showcases the future of man-automobile interface with features such as “smart link,” “safe way” and “special sense” that can all enhance driver experience.

It, however, said the concept is not the prototype of the upcoming X100 SUV, which may reach the market next year.

The vehicle ― first shown at the Seoul Motor Show last year ― has a muscular profile, and with its high beltline and broad chrome-trimmed grille has a sporty feel for a vehicle of its size. (Yonhap)
