SEOUL, Aug. 29 (Yonhap) -- South Korean carmaker SsangYong Motor Co. said Wednesday it will seek to expand its overseas sales over the July-December period by promoting the Rexton Sports and G4 Rexton SUVs. SsangYong Motor has been releasing the Rexton Sports SUV, branded the Musso in other countries, since July after introducing the automobile at the International Geneva Motor Show in March. The South Korean carmaker said it recently hosted a showcase event in Germany and Britain, claiming more launch shows are scheduled to be held in the South American market in September. The Rexton Sports is a crossover-pickup truck, enabling drivers to load on a cargo deck. SsangYong Motor said it hopes to expand overseas sales of the large G4 Rexton SUVs as well. The South Korean company earlier inked an agreement with Indian carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. to produce the G4 Rexton in India. SsangYong Motor said the company will continue to expand sales of automobiles by penetrating into new markets and rolling out marketing campaigns to bolster its brand reputation overseas. ![]() colin@yna.co.kr
